I was SO excited when some of my oldest friends asked me to do their family photos! Recently many of you have seen Elizabeth and her husband Frank on the blog for their maternity photos and then their little girl’s new born photos. Well, this weekend I photographed the whole family and it was SO MUCH FUN.
First of all Jonathan, the middle child, lives out of state so everyone was in rare form because they were all so glad to get to see him and spend time with him. However, the Chastains are always fun and silly with each other and today was no different. We had everyone there and it was a blast.
The Chastains have been part of my family’s life for going on 15 years and my dad and Bill (the patriarch of the family) work out together almost every week day to this day. All of the Chastains have been a big part of my life for a long time. Bill and Amy (the parents) have been people I looked up to my whole childhood. Caleb (the oldest) and his wife Lauren worked for my dad when started his own business. Jonathan is my age and we were as thick as thieves. Elizabeth is the youngest but she was always around and laughing with me and my brother. Even Mimi has a special place in my heart from the times that I have been around her! (You would too if you met her) It is really cool to see where life takes friends and their families. (P.S lets not forget Frank. I didn’t grow up with him, but he is a pretty cool dude from what I can tell!)
The plan was originally to take the photos outside, but the weather had other plans. Since Jonathan is only in for a few days I started looking for indoor spaces to photograph in and came across Aloft Studios in downtown Maryville. It was absolutely beautiful in there and the natural light was breath taking. I don’t do an awful lot of studio work, but I had so much fun doing this.
So, I hope everyone enjoys these photos as much as I enjoyed taking them. Although, I’m fairly sure that is impossible!
